Shaper Sparks Creativity at SkillsUSA!
The SkillsUSA Championships in California is a premier event showcasing the state's most highly skilled career and technical education students.
Our mission? To ignite a passion for woodworking among the next generation, equipping them with the tools and opportunities to innovate and excel.
This past Saturday, Shaper Origin was an integral part of the SkillsUSA California 2024 Cabinetmaking Competition. SkillsUSA California is an annual event where 19 competitors from schools all around the state demonstrate their skills and creativity.
The students were tasked with creating intricate cabinets, with Shaper Origin being a required step of the process. Students dove into their projects from 8:00 am to 2:30 pm, as they crafted unique and visually stunning cabinets that embodied the specified engraving themes.
The competition was fierce, but three talented students rose to the top. Ethan Achterberg from Monache High School earned the Gold, with Marriner Christenson and Daniella Hernandez, also from Monache High School, earning the Silver and Bronze, respectively. It was a clean sweep for Monache High, highlighting the incredible talent brewing at the school.
