Any material suitable for a slide stop, including MDF, Baltic Birch Plywood, Aluminum or Phenolic.

This file includes a 1/4" slot and 20 mm pocket, however, in most wood thinner than 3/4" only the 1/4" slot is necessary. In 3/4" material (or thicker) the 20 mm slot will allow the top of a 20 mm dog to ride in the channel. Simply attach a bench dog (rail dog) and knob to securely lock the sliding stop and tighten. A rail dog with a 1/4"-20 tapped thread in one end is needed.
